Consoles are also developing rapidly. Every generation of console is better and some are remarkably better. The Sony PlayStation, or PS, has changed the market upon its arrival, and for the better – just like online casinos accepting MPESA have changed the casino industry in Kenya. Everybody jumped on the console train, simply because they were very convenient for gaming.
With every generation, consoles bring more features to us, and that is also true for the new PS5, which is a great improvement over PS4, in terms of hardware. However, should you upgrade to a PS5 if you already have a PS4? Yes, you should, but there are some concerns, so read on.
The Overall Lack of Gaming Parts – Consoles and Computers
When faced with a global pandemic and forced to sit indoors, people turn to entertainment.
Gaming is a very good way of entertaining oneself, but because games advance and are more powerful and resource-hungry, new technology has to be acquired. Some people jumped on that train as soon as it was possible, purchasing new consoles and PC parts upon release.
Some parts and consoles were sold out in mere minutes after they were released to the public.
That makes things problematic for the average consumer who does not want to pay nearly double the price to get a console or a graphics card for a computer. In the case of PS5, the situation is not really good.
Why So Expensive?!
When demand is much higher than supply, then you have increases in price. However, when demand is so high that it cannot be matched by the supply, people who want to profit from that surface and make use of the situation. They purchase the consoles or parts at a retail price, in bulk, and then they resell it at a much higher price.
This is why, if you see a price which is nearly double or even more of the item you want, in this case, a PS5, then you should know that it is a scalper you are dealing with, and not just a store. Some stores also want to make use of this situation, but most have a reputation to uphold and will not increase the price. Have that in mind, though, because not every store is your friend nor will it be on the lookout for your well being.
If You Have a PS4 You Should Wait for a Decent Price
An already working console will get you through another period of time, at least until prices get back to normal. Whenever you see a PS5 at retail price, you should grab it. It is much better than the PS4 and it does everything faster and with more frames. One might even experience PC-like gaming with it, provided that the game is not obnoxiously resource-hungry.
Shortly, everybody should get a PS5 over a PS4, or upgrade if they have a PS4 already.
But, if the price is not fair or absurdly high, keeping the PS4 for a while longer is advised. It is better, but not twice the retail price.
