Gamers unite! While on a break from playing video games online or games of chance at Coral Casino, one should definitely opt to visit at least one gaming convention in their lifetime, because it’s an unforgettable experience. They are so interesting to attend, because they are full of colorfully dressed people, developers, information and to top it all, fun. But, which convention should you visit? Here are our favorites.
E3 – Los Angeles – The United States
The Electronics Entertainment Expo or E3, is an annual gaming convention, where developers, publishers, gamers and everybody involved in the gaming industry, including fans, meet to share the passion for gaming. It is one of those conventions that nowadays has a deep root, as it was planted in 1995. Being an annual event, it tends to show us everything that is new in the gaming industry and players are looking forward to various announcements, trailers, news, leaks, anything that might shed some light on any new upcoming video game titles.
While visitors can browse the stands and interact with the developers and presenters, they can also enjoy a large conference at the end with large companies giving information about their upcoming titles.
Gamescom – Cologne – Germany
You can consider this convention to be a parallel to the E3, but with a different twist. It has always been open to the public. It attracts viewers from all over the world, often going above 300,000 visitors. If there was ever to be news about a new title, it would be here, or at E3. Having been open to the public, it was a joy to visit, particularly for fans who love meeting and sharing their passions, not to mention that they get to interact with the developers and the companies behind some of their favorite titles.
While not as old as E3, it is definitely a convention worth having in mind, as well as visiting, simply due to all the interaction with both the fans and the companies/developers.
Tokyo Game Show – Chiba – Japan
Moving to Tokyo and the TGS, we get a taste of what gaming is like in Japan. Japan has always had a different outlook on things, particularly when it comes to RPGs and even action titles. This is where you go if you want a taste of a different culture, particularly if you are from Europe or the US.
Another annual event, it has been around since 1996 and has greeted gamers and video game enthusiasts with news and with joy. It is a convention you should visit if you are ever in Japan at the time.
ChinaJoy – Shanghai – China
Founded in 2004, this convention goes by a longer name, and is actually called China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference. ChinaJoy is its other name, one known to fans and those who prefer to end their sentences in under a minute of speech.
It is also a very popular convention, often visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors. That being said, paying attention to this convention might give you some information about upcoming games.
These are the world’s best video game conventions. Attend and be astounded!
