You can view the full events schedule and pre-register for events on Warhorn, but here are some of the latest events added to the FlatCon 2017 schedule:

  • Board Games for Littles: Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., kids 5 years and up can come by anytime to learn board games for the younger set! An experience gamer parent will be on hand to teach kids some fun games. It’s a great way to introduce your kids to gaming! (Note: this is not a baby sitting service. The GM will be teaching games, not monitoring kids coming and going.)
  • Agricola and Catan U.S. Qualifier Sunday Tournaments!: All day Sunday, we will offer TWO tournaments where you can win a free badge and hotel stay for either of two of the biggest 2018 game conventions in North America. In the Catan U.S. National Championship Qualifier, one winner gets a free badge to Origins 2018 in Columbus, OH, as well as a hotel room supplied by Catan Studios. We’re also putting on an Agricola U.S. National Championship Qualifier in which one winner will receive a 4 day badge to Gen Con 2018 in Indianapolis, IN, as well as hotel accommodations from Mayfair Games. Both tourney winners will, also, win a pre-paid debit card from FlatCon to defray the cost of transportation to the great cons. Entrance fee is $10 payable onsite at FlatCon 2017 and all players get free swag from either Catan Studios or Mayfair.
  • The Captain Is Dead!: It’s the last 10 minutes of your favorite sci fi TV show… oh, and the ship’s captain is DEAD! Come earn this frantic and fun cooperative game. Starship uniforms encouraged.
  • Limitless Adventures Presents Two D&D5E Events: Our friends at Limitless Adventures will run two D&D5E scenarios on Saturday, Alchemists Keep, and Sunday, Sundering the Crystal Staff. Characters are provided and each player will receive a PDF copy of the scenario!
  • Warhammer 40K Saturday Tournament: Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the Flatcon Warhammer 40,000 tournament returns with 8th Edition! This tourney has a $5 entry fee.
  • Give Us Three Zombies: Come play this RPG featuring a supernatural group of crime fighters. “A vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost step into a bar. The vampire says, “Give us three zombies.'”
  • Terra Mystica: Come play on of Board Game Geek’s Top 5 games. Choose a race and try to claim the most area and/or favor in the elementary cults to win!
  • A Better Dystopian World: Euphoria is a game set in a dystopian future city scape awaiting your leadership as you make strategic choices to construct markets, enhance allegiances, and expand control. Knowledge of game rules is expected. Players can learn to play at Red Raccoon Games on the Thursday before FlatCon at 7:00 p.m.
  • Learn Some Board Games and Play In a Tourney: Another of our awesome game teachers, Aaron Housian, will be teaching sessions of Anachrony, Alien Frontiers, and Scythe. Scythe is being run as a tourney, $5 fee, with prizesto winners!
  • Spy Central: Do you like to find the spy or being the spy?! John Weter presents a mixture of the following games: Avalon, Coup, One Night Revolution, Spyfall, and more.
  • A Trio of Classic Boardgames: Andrew Shallue presents the original worker placement game, Caylus, and two railroad building games, 1830 and 1861.
  • Man Your Battlestations!: The Second Edition of Battlestations! is out and it makes its FlatCon debut! Local game teacher presents this event co-sponsored by Double Exposure/Envoy and Red Raccoon Games.
  • Warhammer Age of Sigmar Returns: Our Warhammer 40K and Fantasy friends have been a mainstay of FlatCon for over a decade. This Sunday Age of Sigmar event requires armies of 1,000 points using General’s Handbook 2017.
  • Legos, Dice and Tanks, Oh my!: Do you like Legos? Do you like tank battles? Well, you’ll love Jeff Schemmel’s Lego Tank Battles on Saturday! Building on his successful Lego Man O’ War games from the past two cons, Jeff is presenting afternoon sessions for kids and an evening session for “bigger kids.” These will fill up!
  • Cards, Dice, and Boards!: Conan (Asmodee), D6 Shooter and Winds of Change are three exciting games presented by one of the Founders of FlatCon, the esteemed, or steamed, Dave Ross! Events canceled by GM.
  • EVL Demos and Tournament: Local designer Ethan Weber presents his new UN-cooperative card game, “EVL,” coming soon to Kickstarter. It’s a fun game where you will seek the ruin of your friends and to destroy the world! Demos are running Saturday with a tournament later Saturday to win an early copy of the game!
  • Blades In The Dark: a mature narrative-focused RPG where you play criminals rising through the seedy underbelly of a haunted industrial city!
  • Pathfinders, Assemble!: The Pathfinder Society presents over a dozen different scenarios in their newly expanded area at FlatCon 2017!
  • RPGs and more RPGs: From Silent Legion to Cathulhu to Firefly to Buffy the Vampire Slayer to an RPG with not one single page of rules, we’ve added a variety of RPGs for just about any taste.
  • “Escape from Witch Mountain” (DCC RPG): The survivors of an ill-fated company sent to wipe out a witches coven find what could be an escape route…or is it?
  • “Hong Kong Zombies” (All Flesh Must Be Eaten RPG): Zombies in Hong Kong are usually not popular. But, if you’re a zombie in Hong Kong wanted by the leader of the zombies…well, that’s worse than week old kung pao chicken on a hot sidewalk. At least, you’ve got some wicked Kung Fu skills now!
  • “The Castle” (7th Sea 2nd Ed. RPG): an adults only supernatural horror adventure set in the haunted Duster Castle in the northern part of the war-ravaged nation of Eisen.
  • Minds Eye Society LARPs: Our MES friends return with three LARP scenarios. Werewolf the Apocalypse, Changeling: the Lost, and Vampire: the Masquerade! Veteran and new players are welcome at these free events. Sign up early!
  • Double Exposure Envoy Board and Card games: Our Envoys return with a new slate of games to teach from a variety of publishers! Games include Brew Crafters, Coal Baron: the Great Card Game, Grifters, Karuba and The Networks.
  • Board Games: King of Tokyo, Tokaido, Catan, Ticket to Ride, and Shadows Over Camelot!
  • Circus Maximus: The annual Friday night chariot race returns on Tom Jaggard’s epic hippodrome with featuring 16 hand painted chariots with horses! Remember, the driver has to cross the finish line alive to win…chariot optional.
  • Return to Volturnus: Try the classic sci-fi RPG, Star Frontiers and investigate a mystery on some planetary colonies that have suddenly lost contact. Beginners are welcome in this scenario from Frank Salata!
  • Mansions of Madness, First Edition: the original edition with a real human trying to thwart the players. Well, we think the GM is human…
  • The Gin Genie: in this Savage Worlds RPG event has the players acting as U.S. Marshals on a “simple” prisoner transfer mission. What could go wrong? Beginners welcome!
  • Formula 1 Racing: Our annual Friday night race for the cup revs into gear again!
  • Aerodrome 1.1: Bob and Mindy Connole and their annual WWI aerial dog fight extravaganza return on Saturday and Sunday this year!
